First, you are going to build a contact list in Google Sheets. You can start with an existing list or build a new one. When opening Mailmeteor for the first time, you will be guided through a quick onboarding tutorial in which we will create a demo spreadsheet.
Each column will represent a personalized field in your email. In this simple example, we have only 4 columns: firstname, email, company, postscriptum. The data in these column can be used as personalized variables in your email. You can add as many column as you want and pick any column header name you want.
Fill your spreadsheet with all the information needed. Ensure all emails cells are filled with valid emails addresses. Apart from emails, you can leave some cells blank, that's fine! In the example below, some recipients will get a Post Scriptum whereas other won't.
Once your contact list is ready, open Mailmeteor and create a new email template. In menu, go to Add-ons> Mailmeteor > Open Mailmeteor

Now that your contact list is ready, you have to create the email template that will serve as the basis for the mail merge sent with Mailmeteor.
Open Mailmeteor and click on "Create a new email".
You are going to create a new email template from Mailmeteor editor, which is based on Gmail native editor. It means you can insert formatting, links, signature & more, like you would do in Gmail.
A template is an email containing personalized tags such as {{firstname}}. Personalized tags must be included in double curly brackets. If you don't have curly brackets on your keyboard, the most common shortcut is : Alt (option on Mac) + (
You can personalize every part of the email, from subject to content. The only limit is your imagination! Each personalized tags in emails will be replaced by your spreadsheet data on sending. No need to copy paste anymore. When everything looks nice, click on Save template.
The personalized tags have to match exactly the headers of your spreadsheet, including upper/lower cases. When your email is ready, you're all set to send!

Back in the main view, pick a Sender name and choose the email template you want to use for the campaign. You can preview what your emails will look like when personalized by clicking on "Preview emails" or directly send emails.

Ready to take off? Click on Send emails to launch your campaign. Sending may takes from a few seconds to several minutes depending on your spreadsheet size. Once sending is finished, track emails in real-time with the tracking report.
